Each year, The GAME brings Lancers together to celebrate our pride, our people, and a tradition that keeps us connected.
At Longwood, traditions are part of what connects us—past, present, and future. Since 2010, The GAME has been one of those special moments that bring the Lancer family together each fall.
What began as The G.A.M.E. (Greatest Athletics March Ever) has grown into a tradition beloved by students and alumni alike. Now simply known as The GAME, the event continues to be a celebration of Lancer spirit, connection, and community pride.
Each year during Homecoming and Alumni Weekend in November, Lancers will gather to cheer on Longwood and receive The Scarf—an iconic symbol of belonging and tradition. With a new design revealed annually, The Scarf is a coveted piece of Longwood pride and a rite of passage for many students.
While The GAME has evolved, the heart of the tradition remains the same: showing up, standing together, and proudly wearing The Scarf that ties generations of Lancers together.
Be sure to check out Homecoming and Alumni Weekend for event details and how you can be part of this year's tradition.
