Thinking about reporting something you have seen or heard? 
Ask yourself:
- Is a friend suffering in secrecy?
- Saw something that concerns you?
- Know that a situation is just "not quite right?"
Trust your instincts. Make a report.
Anyone who believes they are a victim of hazing is encouraged to report the incident. Any person having knowledge of any activity or conduct that is concerning or may constitute hazing is also encouraged to report the incident or behaviors.
Call 911 if you or someone else is in danger.
Hazing incidents need to be reported when they occur, because there is no such thing as harmless hazing. Anyone who knows of hazing activity should report it to the Office of Student Conduct and Integrity.

Anonymous Reports
To make an anonymous crime report to the Longwood University Police Department, please use the Police Department Crime Report Form or anonymously here.
Anonymous Reports limit the ability of the University to respond to a situation without being able to speak to the person who made the report.
Protection for Student Reporters
Student reporters of misconduct will not be charged with alcohol offenses or minor violations of the Student Code of Conduct Standards and Regulations disclosed during the reporting process. Minor violations are defined as those that have a minimum sanction of letter of admonition.

Investigation of Reports
All reports are investigated. Important details to include in a report are:
- names of people and/or organizations involved,
- dates,
- where it happened,
- specific description of what happened.
The University's ability to investigate hazing, enforce policy, and protect students depends on accurate and specific reports. You are encouraged to provide as much specific detail as possible so that the reported behavior can be addressed.
The Commonwealth of Virginia Statute
The Commonwealth of Virginia Statute that speaks to the safe reporting of overdoses, specifically defined as a life-threatening condition resulting from alcohol, controlled substances, or any combination of such substances. Virginia Code: § 18.2-251.03. Safe reporting of overdoses.
Retaliatory Behavior
What if someone says that I will lose my membership or ability to be in a group if I report something?
What if someone says that I will be ostracized if I say something?
Retaliatory behavior is not tolerated. It considered to be misconduct and will be referred to the Conduct and Integrity office for disciplinary action.
