Longwood University announced today the launch of BookBundle, an innovative, new program in partnership with Follett Higher Education to reduce the cost of textbooks and required course materials for students, starting in the fall 2025 semester.
BookBundle will give students more convenient access to affordable, required course materials through the Longwood University Store on or before the first day of classes. This eliminates the burden on students of finding and purchasing the correct materials on their own. BookBundle is projected to save students up to 60 percent on their required course materials, compared with purchasing new, printed textbooks.
BookBundle is yet another way we can level the playing field and help equip students with the tools and solutions they need to succeed.

“We are constantly striving to improve affordability and remove financial barriers for students,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Cameron Patterson ’10, M.S. ’17. “This program offers digital course materials at significantly reduced prices, and ensures students have access to their materials before classes begin. BookBundle is yet another way we can level the playing field and help equip students with the tools and solutions they need to succeed.”
The Longwood University Store will deliver all required course materials—including textbooks, lab kits, access codes and more—for a low, flat fee per credit hour (capped at 12) paid as part of tuition and fees. Students will be automatically enrolled in BookBundle when they register for classes, ensuring they will be prepared with the right materials on the first day. Students who are not interested in participating in BookBundle will be given the option to easily opt out of the program each term with no penalty.
In addition to the affordability and convenience benefits, BookBundle is expected to improve academic performance and help students complete their studies rather than deferring classes due to course material costs, access issues or confusion, leading to better outcomes and higher graduation rates.
“We work hard to meet campus communities where they are, addressing their needs so they can focus on academic success,” said Follett Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Kolady. “We’re pleased to partner with Longwood to offer BookBundle to help more students excel and succeed in the classroom.”
